Blackjack Pasture 1996
The color is bright with a hint of brick around the edges. The nose has a nice cedar character and expresses complexity. What you smell is what you taste with flavors of bittersweet chocolate, cedar and cigar box. A hint of black licorice rounds out this wine. Long on the palate with a rich, soft finish. We noticed some eucalyptus character after open for some time. This 20-year old wine is drinking wonderfully now but can continue to be cellared.
