Greg Vita – Winemaker

A fifth generation Californian and early morning long-distance runner, Greg has been a vineyard and winemaking consultant to wineries in the Napa Valley, Santa Cruz Mountains, and Monterey County since 1994. Prior to opening his consulting business, he was with Spring Mountain Vineyards in St. Helena for twelve years serving as Wine Maker and General Manager. A UC Davis graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Botany and Plant Science, Greg has made wine for Frogs Leap, Dunn, Philip Tongi, Spottswood, and Chimney Rock. Since the start of Galante Vineyards in 1994, Greg has shown his dedication to excellence in the rich, robust wines that he produces. Married with two sons, Greg is quiet yet amusingly frank, believing that, as JRR Tolkien said, "The wise speak only of what they know." He enjoys the outdoor pursuits of hiking, fly fishing, and skiing, and spends a lot of time at his retreat in the Frank Church wilderness of Idaho.

Chris Vita – Associate Winemaker

Chris has been working throughout the Monterey County Wine Appellation since a very early age. The son of winemakers Greg and Diana Vita, Chris got his start working in various cellars with his parents. Chris chose to make this passion his career after graduating from the esteemed winemaking program at UC Davis with a degree in Viticulture and Enology. Winemaking has allowed Chris to travel and learn, taking him as far as New Zealand to acquire and exchange skills. Chris has been working side by side his dad, Greg, at Galante Family Winery for many years, constantly working to perfect his craft and broaden his knowledge. Chris’ winemaking philosophy rests upon a balance of science and tradition, using modern technologies to support traditional winemaking techniques. When not in the cellar, Chris enjoys recreating with his wife Val in the outdoors with frequent trips to climb and ski in the mountains.   

Cori Dickerson - Office & Wine Club Manager

As Wine Club Manager at Galante Vineyards, Cori Dickerson leads our hospitality and member relations with a keen eye for detail and a heart for service. A proud U.S. Navy veteran with eight years of dedicated service, Cori brings a spirit of discipline, warmth, and leadership to every guest experience.

Originally hailing from a small town in Ohio, she’s spent the last five years soaking up the California sun and calling it home. When she’s not wrangling wine shipments or planning unforgettable member events, you’ll find her hiking trails, exploring new places with her husband, or enjoying family time with their three incredible kids, two dogs, and a bearded dragon named Dobby. Her perfect night? Kicking back with a glass of Legacy Red and a gripping psychological thriller.

Lauren Hackett – Administrative Assistant

As Administrative Assistant at Galante Vineyards, Lauren Hackett keeps the wheels turning behind the scenes, ensuring daily operations run like a well-oiled machine. A proud Salinas native, she brings with her a strong agricultural background and a genuine appreciation for the craft of winemaking.

Lauren’s go-to pour? Our crisp, refreshing Wagon Wheel Sauvignon Blanc—her top pick for sunny afternoons. When she’s off the clock, you’ll likely find her soaking up the coast with her sidekick Bruce, a lovable French Bulldog with plenty of personality.

Janet Mueller –Tasting Room Manager

Janet may be a newcomer to the West Coast, but she brought with her a lifetime of adventure. Originally from the Chicago countryside, with stops along the Maine coast and Marco Island, Florida, she made her way to Carmel in 2012. Her introduction to Galante Vineyards came thanks to longtime Wine Gang members who welcomed her with open arms—and a great glass of wine. Now, as our Tasting Room Manager, Janet delights in sharing Galante wines with fellow enthusiasts who share her love for California’s bold and beautiful vintages. With a rich background in the travel industry, she’s explored destinations across the globe, and she knows firsthand how a great wine—like a great journey—can transport you. When she’s not pouring tastes and stories at the bar, Janet’s soaking up life on the coast, walking her beloved rescue pups on the beach, casting lines in Alaska, or unwinding in Hawaii. She swears by Jimmy Buffett’s philosophy: “If there’s a heaven for me, it has a beach attached to it.” And we’d bet there’s a sunset and a glass of wine in hand, too.
