Nestled in the coastal mountains of Carmel Valley, our estate and partner vineyards stretch from 700 feet to 2,000 feet above sea level. These varied elevations allow us to grow grapes with distinctive character, each plot showcasing its own personality and depth. The steep slopes and rocky soils lend structure and complexity, producing wines of bold body and remarkable finesse.
What sets Carmel Valley apart is its dramatic temperature swings—sometimes as much as 50 to 60 degrees in a single day. This extended growing season gives our grapes a long “hang time,” allowing them to ripen slowly and develop intense, concentrated berry flavors.
We pride ourselves on hands-on farming. The Galante team personally oversees every aspect of vineyard management, ensuring that quality is never compromised. Our yields are intentionally low—averaging just three tons per acre—so that each cluster of grapes delivers maximum flavor and balance.
Sustainability is central to our philosophy. We farm without the use of pesticides or herbicides and irrigate only when absolutely necessary. These mindful practices, along with our unwavering attention to detail, ensure that every grape we harvest is a true expression of the land and the spirit of the West.
